Question Need advice on BofA Student VISA - about payment

    Hello,
My minimum payment due date was February 23 for BofA Student Platinum VISA and somehow I forgot to pay the minimum amount by 2/23.
I remembered today, and paid $100 to the card ($15 was minimum amount).

Now I am afraid that there will be a late payment shown on my credit report.
Any suggestions to avoid the late payment being recorded on my credit report. This is the first time I missed the payment.
    Any suggestions/info is appreciated.
    Thanks.

there will not be a late payment on your credit report because it is <30 days late. there will however be a late fee most likely.

you can call bank of america to see if they are willing to waive it out of goodwill.
chances are your APR will also increase to the highest rate.
It will really depend on your banking history and relationship with them.

I called them, and the person on the other side was really understanding. I did not have a late fee, nor APR increase or anything.
The person asked me to pay the amount I want to pay, (which I did online right then), and everything was ok.

Great job! Good for you. I would just make sure I did not do that again anytime soon.

The BoA credit card I have has a late fee and penalty ARP. in the 6+ years that I have had it, i paid late 2 times because I forgot about it. I submitted my payment electronically about a week after due date each time. They never raised my APR or made me pay the penalty, they didn't even report the late payment to the credit bureaus. not idea why, but i'm not complaining.

i also have a checking account with them and over the years i picked up four $35 fees for over drafts. i called to ask if they could be removed 3 of those times and they removed it every single time.

i really can't say a bad thing about BoA, but don't push your luck. Don't be me and stay on top of it.

This was all pre-2008 market crash so YMMV. Whenever this has happened to me I always call and make a big deal about it. Let them know how important it for me to pay on time and maintain a good relationship, etc., etc. I usually get them to make an entry into my file indicating I called. This only works once or twice...
