I'm right there with you. Good thing I reconed as you suggested MemberSince99 because it turns out that my decline decision was based on the fact that they needed to verify my address. Not sure that would come up as a decline and not a "need verification" or something like that, but yeah I guess I'll have to be crossing my fingers in the next 3 to 5.

Good for you man. You gotta hang in there right up until the end because you just never know. If they decline you for another reason I'd try another recon. US Bank like Chase seems to be recon friendly if you get the right analyst to take a look. Hopefully you'll get this.

Me I'm done apping for 2012 it's been a ride now time to sit back and work with what I've got.

    Default saga continues

I get my card in the mail today and they approved me for a cash rewards visa with a straight 1% cash back, sadly my b of a is 1.25% and capital one is 1.5% they said if I use the card for 6 months it's upgradeable to a cash+ the limit is 2k, I can easily max it out monthly. I applied for the cash+ joint with my wife, her as the primary she has good credit hopefully that app goes through, I'm going to wait to activate the cash rewards they send me till later this week hopefully I get the cash + with my wife and can tell them to cancle the cash rewards. Is it worth me taking a half % bath on 2k a month for 6 months to build credit up with them to get the cash + card if I have to go that route, that would be $60 in cash back I would miss, but having 5% in restaurarants and bills if they always have that category would make me about $75 a month. I'm wondering if I'm crazy to even consider this, hopefully my joint app with my wife gets approved, otherwise is this even worth entertaining?????????????????

I would think so yes but only you can decide. If they upgrade you the Cash + is a signature card which would mean you would have to get a minimum limit of 5000 dollars. So, if they are willing to upgrade you in 6 months, yeah I'd say so.

They basically told me the same thing. They gave me the same card with a $3000 CL and APR in the mid teens and told me after 6 months of responsible use it was upgradable to a Cash+. I still really want that card, and this card frankly sucks, so I'm using it to pay utilities that I would otherwise get 2% on through my Fidelity Amex or Discover More autopay. Losing out on half the rewards is a**, but I'm really hoping it will pay off in the end. Worst case scenario if they don't wanna bump my CL 2k and product change me, I'll just let the card sit dormant except for the occasional pack of gum charge, and contribute to my average age of accounts. It's already open, closing it would hurt me more cause it will leave an account with only 1 month of history on my report for 7 years.
