Angry Visa black card?

Visa Black Card?! is everyone going to hop on the black card bandwagon!!!

They just came out with a Visa black credit card and get this, the official name for it is actually "BLACK CARD" lol couldn't they be just a little bit more original than that?

Visa Black Card picture

I wonder what American Express is thinking about that.

I don't know if calling it Visa black card is legal or not. Wouldn't this be some kind of trademark infringement on Amex's black card? I recall years ago Amex successfully sued another creditor for issuing the platinum card, because those words together [platinum card] are trademarked by Amex.

Anyway have you read the reviews of it? It actually sounds like not a bad card. Especially if you are looking for a card primarily to impress people. The annual fee on this card is around the same as the Amex Platinum but I'm sure this one will definitely get way more oohs and ahhs! You should read the Visa Black Card review here.

lol i went to their site for this (blackcard.com) they brag about the card and say it's made using graphite and that is "guaranteed" to get attention... lol this card is all about image. they are just trying to pedal it to people who need stupid pieces of plastic to impress others.

then the part about only 1% of the population will ever have the black visa card. lol when you think about it the population doesn't have more than 1% of any credit card! name any specific credit card. do you think more than 1% of everyone has that card? probably not especially when you consider the majority of people have questionable credit ratings to qualify anyway.

this card is a joke. a lame attempt at creating a prestigious card!

Default Who issues the Visa Black Card.....

I looked into this Visa Black Card and it was put out by a dude named Scott Blum who is the founder of Buy.com and a bunch of other dot coms and dot bombs. Barclay's is the actual underwriter for credit but Blum's company Think Thank Holdings is the one who owns and operates the Black Card.

Anyone want to make any bets on how long this thing will last? I say within 2 to 3 years the Visa Black Card will cease to exist. It will go the same route as the so called Stratus Reward Visa aka White Card. That one had a $1500 annual fee and benefits that didn't even come close to justifying the price. Honestly it sounds like even the Amex Gold card has better benefits than this Visa Black.

I read a blog by someone who has the Visa black card a couple days ago and they said that even though they claim its made out of something different it looks, feels and moves the same as plastic so it might as well be plastic!

I give it 2 and half years only bec the dude backing it has deep pockets

I find it insanely obnoxious it says the words "black card" across the front like that.

Attached is an actual photograph of the Visa Black Card. As you can see, despite their claims, the card appears to be the same plastic as any other credit card.

It's kind of like if I bought at a shirt that said in big bold letters 'I'm rich!' It doesn't quite work and make people believe the message now does it.

I think while applying and getting approved you are asking yourself "Wow why am I part of the 1%"

This card is Bull. Just a waste of money and nothing else than another issuer trying to copy the Centurion Card. I don't think that $450 is ok for that kind of card. Well what it all boils down to is just the fact that American Express is Classic. All the others are cheap imitators. Just use the 450 on a Platinum.

They are trying to push an illusionary high-end credit card for a hefty fee. The problem with this marketing method is many of the individuals who want this card to impress others, will never get the card because they can't afford a $495 annual fee. Meanwhile the individuals who actually qualify to fit in the premium credit card niche market, I would predict can see right through the hype-marketing on this card and realize it offers no benefits better than the other premium cards they are familiar with or already have.

At the end of the day they will be left with a credit card which very few people will get, certainly not enough cardmembers for this business to be profitable. This card may be off the market in as little as 12 to 18 months.
