Default Can Chase remove a hard credit inquiry?

    Hello everyone,

I recently applied for Chase Slate and was approved. However when I checked my credit report I noticed they made two hard pulls instead of just 1. I went to my local Chase branch and discussed the issue with them. They stated they would be able to remove one of the inquiries like it never happened. I did not know this was even possible. Is this something banks can actually do or were they just saying that to get me to leave LOL? Has anyone had a similar experience. thanks!

Banks can, under certain circumstances, have the inquiries removed. Always, always get names and OP ID's when talking with customer service to ensure that things are done the way they are supposed to be.

Why Slate? That is one of the most worthless credit cards out there. And it is ugly. You should have gone with a Freedom.

If you have a long standing relationship with the bank, you can write them (postal mail) asking them to remove it in good will/faith, if you explain you are trying to clean up your credit. They can also remove 30 days past due. Doesn't happen very often, but in certain circumstances they will.
