    Default Need a backup Visa

So my main card I use is an AMEX premier rewards gold, as well as AMEX blue cash everyday ($1500 limit). I'm looking now at getting a Visa card to use in cases that amex isn't accepted. Currently have a checking account with Bank of America, so the logical option would be using one of their Visa Signature cards, but Chase Sapphire is becoming an intriguing choice as well. Credit scores are 746 EX (2 hard inquires from amex, one should be coming off soon from 9/09), 750 EQ (1 hard inquiry), and 768 TU. Income is roughly $30k. I am a little concerned though that with a Visa Signature I would now have two accounts that don't report a line of credit. What would be the best way to go?

Since you're a BofA customer, there is a 10% bonus for depositing the rewards into your BofA checking account, so the Cash Rewards Visa would be a 1.1-2.2-3.3% rewards card.

You can also check out the Household Visa card offering a flat 2% cash reward. Note that Capital One has bought Household from HSBC, so that's going to be a Capital One card, and they don't have the best record for customer service.

If you're happy w/ BofA, I would definitely get their card. That way you can manage that account on the same website you manage your other banking. If you do go with Chase (which is who I use), I would look instead at the Freedom card. Its rewards are superior to those of Sapphire unless you travel a lot.
    CARDS (and why)
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (best cash back excepting 5% cards), Fidelity Visa (spare)
Chase: Freedom (only for 5% reward categories, purchases under $10), Sapphire (not in use), Amazon Rewards (for Amazon purchases only)
CapitalOne: No Hassle Rewards (no foreign transaction fee, my only MasterCard, not in use)
Amex: Blue Cash Everyday (not in use)
Discover: More (only for 5% reward categories)

Thanks for your responses. I just applied and was approved for the BankAmericard Cash rewards Visa Signature. Figured since this is just a backup card, might as well get some money back once in a blue moon and not having to worry about reward points expiring and all.

Congrats of the Bank of America Visa. I have always had luck with my BofA cards. Just FYI if you need it, Citibank, Nordstrom and US Bank all report the limits on their Visa Signature cards.

Congrats. The BofA card is nice, especially for groceries and gas.

As for it not reporting its credit line, I read that the card's high balance is used in place of the credit line for credit purposes.
