Question Chase Freedom: how long will the sign-on bonus last?

I've noticed that the Chase Freedom card is always advertising their $250 sign-up bonus but I was wondering how long this is going to last. I'm considering getting a new card but if they keep going with this promotion, I may hold off on the Chase Freedom in favor of the Citi Forward...

Anyone know how long the promotion's been going on and how long they plan on keeping it?

    Thanks!

I was just approved for a freedom card but my offer was for a 200.00 statement credit. Not sure about the 250 offer but maybe location is a factor.

They are constantly changing it-and many times they offer different bonuses at the same time. Usually the higher the bonus, the higher the accounts APR is. The $250 is a pretty good deal though, so as long as the other terms of the account are kosher, it mighf be a good idea to jump on it before it goes away. I can't imagine them going up to $300.

I've no idea how long "limited time" means but that's what Chase is advertising.

@ooxs I got the spend $500 within 3 months for $250 cashback. Haven't heard of the flat $200 credit but others have had success with calling in and asking Chase to match the $250 cashback.

@CC Deville That's true, I looked at a couple of offers for the Chase Freedom and the $100 cashback had an apr of around 11.99% I want to say whereas mine with $250 cashback is 15.99% but I guess it doesn't matter as much to those of us who don't intend to carry balances. My girlfriend had a targeted offer for $300 cashback and try as I might, Chase won't match that

Exactly. Any reward card should not be used to carry a balance. I think my offer was the $100 one last year but I got a great APR. It has been a pretty good card. But I am thinking the new BofA Cash Rewards is better because I only really use two of the extra 5% bonus offers from Discover, Citibank Dividend and Chase Freedom. With the BofA you get 3% on gas and 2% on groceries. That means more to me than travel , department stores and home improvement....

I am taking the 200 and run. I will not be giving Chase more than 500.00 in business (minimum requirement for the 200 cash back), as long as i can use Discover / Amex at Amazon and get perks back. I am going to consider this generous gift as partial payment for my American Express membership.
