Default Visa extended warranty vs. Amex. Who's better?

Between the Amex and Visa Extended Warranty on purchases, which offers the best degree of coverage? The Visa version I have never used before yet I have two signature cards the come with it. The Visa website talks about registering purchases where you have to send in your receipts and warranty papers after you make a purchase.

What I hate about that is let's say you buy 10 items. At most the chances are you will make an extended warranty claim on are likely no more than 1 out of 10 of the purchases. Yet you spent all that time monkeying around mailing paperwork in to register all 10. The program seems like more hassle than a benefit when you factor in the time spent doing all that unless the coverage Visa is providing is significantly better than Amex.

American express is I can tell you why. let's say you buy electronics or a blazer and something happens past the 90 days. American express forces the merchant to take the merchandise back, your visa bank won't.

Now let's look at this, what percentage of cards do you think American express has annual fees for? what percentage on Visa?

    that's why.

Here is information about the Extended Warranty benefit from American Express. In my personal opinion I feel it's much better coverage than Visa Signature's extended warranty but be your own judge. The maximum "up to" duration of the extended warranty coverage is much longer with AmEx as you will see.
