Thread: Credit cards for starting credit

Hello everyone im 20 years old and really would like to start building up my credit. Right now i have applied for several even ones that were for bad credit and still got denied due to insufficient credit history. Any help you all? I am currently not a student and have a part time job which iv held for 4 years. I dont care who its with or what just really need to start working on that for my future.

Dude every time you apply for new credit your score gets dinged. Applying for a lot of 'em like you did wasn't the best idea.

I don't think it is that hard to get approved for your first credit card if you haven't effed up your credit yet. Do you have ANY existing forms of credit that show up on your credit report? Have you checked your credit report to see what's on there??

I have checked my report and its spotless and non existant. Though after I made that post I applied for a capital one card and got approved so all good now

Capital One is very lenient. Even bad credit can easily get one. But it is very strange that despite a job, you had trouble obtaining one with no bad credit history... Perhaps it's partially due to America's 3'rd World economy right now.

I would suggest your local bank. If you have someone that could sign for you that should help too. I also have a capitol 1.
