Default Turkey is Visa's second biggest market??!

On CNBC they were talking about Visa and said out of all places Turkey is Europe's second biggest market and *might* become the biggest?! They said something about the usage of bank cards going up like 40% this year and Visa cards up like over 20%. wtf Turkey??!

Rather than Turkey, what I find surprising is India. Credit cards continue to be extremely unpopular there despite their new middle class which has come about in the past couple decades. The vast majority of the country still lives in poverty, but I am referring to the upper middle class - from what I have heard they largely prefer paper over plastic.
