CSP declined because Chase system was "down"

Postby ipalmer » Tue Mar 25, 2014 4:10 pm

Out with some friends the other night and my CSP was declined twice. Later I found that two other friends' Chase cards (a Freedom and CS) were also both declined. I called the CSP number and all they could tell me was "I'm sorry but our system is down and that is all I can tell you".

Now I'm a pretty reasonable guy and I understand that **** happens but I was pretty irritated, especially when its a card I pay an annual fee on. I don't usually call and complain about things but this really irked me. Is this something worth complaining about or do I just let it go?

You have to let it go...it can happen with any bank. Now...if it continues to happen you should complain and have all or part of that annual fee refunded and or have UR points added for your inconvenience.

If it happened on the same night, then you really can't hold it against them that it occurred twice. If it's down, it's down. If it happens on different days, however, that's something worth noting to Chase.
