Walked in for a Chase Savings account ended up with a new addition!!

Postby nismoZtuner » Thu Mar 20, 2014 2:01 am

For about a week I have been debating on opening a savings account with Chase or Wells Fargo. Well I ended up going to Chase- I walked in and went to the personal bankers area and was helped out. The banker guy asked me if I had an account with them. I told him I had a Marriott CC from them. He asked me to show him the card and my ID so I did. He asked what I thought about my Marriott card- he also said he hadn't seen one in person yet which was kind of cool. (He wants one). Later he's like what other cards do you have? I'm like PRG, BCE, and discover. . Hes like wow! At your age with those cards its amazing. .

Anyways I asked him if the CSP was really going to get an annual increase and he just told me that Chase was going to make a few changes to it. While he was creating my savings account he's like "just so you know you are pre approved for both the basic and preferred as well as the freedom card"- I was like really.. since I got my Marriott card last year(August I think) I have been eyeing the CSP.. that's when I decided to go for it.. well I was approved, wasn't that exited... then he's like your limit is $5800 I'm like sweet my highest now. . Haha the limit got me excited instead!

Congrats :) the card itself may not be too beneficial for you, but the limit will really boost your total CL and utilization.

congrats!! but now i'm wondering what changes are in store for the CSP? will those changes be included with the existing CSP card? is there a new sapphire product? hmm...maybe i'll walk into the bank and open up a savings too.

Congrats on the CSP. I've really been enjoying mine, and the signup bonus is excellent. I too am curious about what changes are in the pipeline for the Sapphire products... Any indication of specifics? Annual fee increase? Changes for current customers?

Thanks for the info!

Congrats!

I just hope the changes are propagated before my AF comes up in May. My plan is to go to the no AF version unless the changes are too good to pass up.

Congrats.

You should really try to get the Chase Freedom as well. The UR points can be combined to redeem awards and cash back.

The bank guy told me if there is actually an annual increase that i will be grandfathered with the same price for the next year. hopefully that is true.

Well what I have been reading is that the annual fee will increase- but like the bank guy said "you'll be grandfathered". I`m not sure about the rest
