As far as i've heard and read, the AMEX Plat is farrrr superior than the Visa Black. It seems as though its just a Black card with high annual fees for very little perks.

You should base your decision on your needs/wants. That said, if you want to collect opinions there is plenty of prior discussion on the Visa Black:

This, exactly. If you want a black card, buy a can of black paint and go to town. You'll be a lot better off. I've heard of people getting 500 limits so when the annual fee posts that puts you at 99%. I'm far less than impressed by what it offers for that steep yearly fee, personally.

Thanks guy for the feed back, wasn't something that I was going to apply for being I already have the Platinum, but I though by it being "black" it was on a level to compete with Centurion.

I have a all Black World Mastercard, no fee, courtesy of Cap One. Pick your color. Red could be interesting now that AmEx dropped theirs.
Gold American Express, since 1979,
back when it meant something.
And a few other cash back cards as well.
