Chase Sapphire Preferred Annual Fee Increase?

Postby JMR » Thu Mar 06, 2014 7:18 pm

I was looking on Chase's website and now I see the AF for CSP is now $149.

I don't know if this is just announced or what, but this is a decent price increase. What do you guys think?

I believe the older cards are grandfathered.

Good news is I just saw that they are converting many of the chase cards to Chip+Pin and from Chip+Sig, CSP being one of them.

I wonder if those who are at 95 currently will stay 95, and if so, are the benefits reduced?

there are apps for 95, 125 and 149 (kept going in and seeing it at those pricing)

but the points for 125 and 149 remain same

with same type of rewards that 95 currently has

Your statement caused me to Google this...mostly because the yahoos at MyFico have not said much about it. Found a website that indicates what you have said to be true, that Chase is moving towards Chip + PIN. This pleases me greatly and my Freedom card will be getting more of my business if Chase (the largest credit card issuer in the US) is the only one to go Chip + PIN.

Hmmmm....when I go to that link, the box on the right side of the screen says the AF is $95; no change. Do you have the CSP? I'm wondering if, perhaps when one goes to that link, my IP address is somehow linked to the link. Maybe an increase for folks applying for the first time??

Also, ref Chip and Pin, there was an article on MSN Money about the CEO of JP Morgan Chase having a commitment to rolling out Chip and Pin and bypassing Chip and Signature across the board for all their card offerings.
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!

I wonder for how long does the grandfathered accounts apply before everyone has to pay all the same.
