.

I do not have the CSP, or any card with Chase. So maybe that is why mine is higher? It seems to be different for everyone. The people at $95 are grandfathered in which is nice for them. But it seems they are raising for the new people wanting to get the card. I wonder if you call you can still get in on the $95 a year.

This is big news and the first I've heard of it. I just checked all my travel blogs a couple minutes ago and there was no word of this change.

When I go to Chase's website it shows an AF of $125. That puts this card near the price point of an AmEx charge card. The AF is still waived the first year, though.
Citi Forward ($10.1K), AmEx Blue Cash Everyday ($30K), Chase Freedom ($12.4K), Discover it ($5.5K), Barclaycard Arrival ($12.5K), L.L. Bean Visa ($5K). FICO 806 (TU), 812 (EQ), 806 (EX).

That is why this forum is the best ;) . I also looked around and saw nothing about it so I had to make a post. Especially when it showed up for me at $149 AF. That is almost up towards an AMEX PRG.

You'd have to never cook at home and travel a lot to justify a $125 AF...they are definitely targeting the city dwellers (public transport and taxis count as travel). I think the PRG is a more suburban card.

Because the change happened a while ago. Chase offered a 55k bonus for $3k and adding an AU. The fee on that offer was $125. The lower, 40k offer remained available for $95. I plan on keeping mine.

EDIT: Also, the sky is falling.

The offer that is new is the 40k with an AF of $149 that I found while searching today. That is why I started the thread... Thought it was different. I have seen the 55k offer but not this one.

I see what you're saying but raise you the point that it now appears all new CSP card holders will have an AF of $125. The link you posted was a promo (likely a trial) offer. Up until today every blog post I read has said the AF is $95. Hence my surprise.

My Marriott Premier card has been grandfathered to $65 for a cycle or two since they raised the AF to $85.

$95, $125, $149 it doesn't matter, I'm going to transfer all my UR points and close or PC to the non Preferred version before the AF.
