Chase Sapphire Preferred CLI

Postby CreditAddict » Mon Feb 24, 2014 8:55 pm

Hi!

I got approved recently for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card with an initial credit limit of $30k.

I was also approved for the Chase United Explorer card with an initial credit limit of $32k.

I moved $20k from the Explorer card over to the Sapphire Preferred card, raising my total credit limit on that card to $50k.

I wanted ask if anyone has had experience with getting a significant increase in credit limit with Chase over a period of 6 to 12 months. I am trying to get my credit limit up to the $75k range, due to the amount of spending I do on a monthly basis, and don't want to keep my utilization low.

Thanks!

Hi,

Don't have an answer to your question as I have only had my Chase cards less than a year with no automatic CLI as of yet.

But, just wanted to say, re: your limits; I hate you. ;)

Love,

me

So many factors to consider:

Credit history, payment history with Chase, other assets in Chase accounts, willingness to submit income verification.

If all of the above lines up and you can show Chase that you drop big money on the card every month and pay it off, they MAY consider upping your limit. In the meantime, you can always make multiple payments each month to keep utilization down.

(You can also use an Amex charge card - a few months of use and you'll have plenty of room on the internal spending limit. Plus, no utilization reporting.)

I applaud you for wanting to spend that much on one card but wouldn't you spread it around?
