Citi PC Question

Postby MrMosby » Wed Feb 12, 2014 8:30 am

If I do a Citi PC that results in my card going from MC to Visa they change my account number.

Does that reflect on my credit report as a new account, or is it back dated back to the original date of the MC?

The CSR didn't seem to know.

I don't think citi does PC anymore. At least that what the CSR told me when I asked them a PC.

I PC'd my BoA MC to a Visa. They changed the card number, and when I checked my credit report, it just said that my MC was closed, and my Visa was opened on the same date as the MC.

So if Citi does PC your card to a Visa, it will backdate correctly.
AMEX BCE ($20,000), Citi Forward ($6,800), Discover IT ($5,250), BoA Travel Rewards ($1,800)

Citibank will do product changes. They stopped for a few years and blamed it on the CARD Act. Your account does need to be at least a year old to process the product change. Essentially the only thing that will change on your credit report is the account number (Citibank Visa account numbers begin 4128 for platinum select and 4147 for Signature). The open date and account history transfer completely.
