Approved For Citi Card, How Soon Will It Arrive?

Postby benhollberg » Wed Jan 15, 2014 7:59 pm

Today I applied for the Citi Dividend card, I was approved for a measly $4300 limit. Anyway, their websites says I will receive the card in one week, I called to see if I could get it sooner but they said they don't expedite new cards. So my question is if anyone has been approved and received the card within 4 or 5 days. The only reason I even want this card is for purchases to make Tuesday morning, so need it Monday. I wish I would have done this earlier but oh well. Whatever happens it'll get put in my safe after Tuesday and will get maybe five charges a year after that. Just hoping I get it by Monday, was approved about 2:00 MT so I'm hoping they sent it out this afternoon.

they can't expedite new cards but they can rush

call back for another rep

it takes a day for the card to be "built" and then they can overnight (they have with my current card but that wasn't new)

and so fastest u can get it is 2-3 biz days

I called back. They want expedite or rush the card right now. They said call back in 48 hours when my account is actually created, ask for an account manager and see if they can do anything.

LOL by that time you might have already received the card standard mail. I am an existing cardholder and I can tell you that it generally takes about 5 days to receive my replacement cards.

Also, don't worry about the credit line. Most likely you will receive a CLI within the first year and after that Citibank makes it really easy to request a CLI on their website. Don't forget to sign up each quarter for the 5% bonus cash back. This quarter is drug stores, health clubs and something else...your other cards in your signature all have better rewards than the Dividend though...

Oh for the 5% cash back? That's not bad at all.

I hope that's the case. 5-6 days will get it to me by Monday. As far was rewards go with this I'm not too concerned, I plan to use the card for some Citi specific offers on Tuesday then just sock drawer it with rare use to keep it open with no annual fee. Was hoping to charge about $10k to it next week, I guess there is no way around that though.

I PC'd from Citi Platinum Select to Citi ThankYou Preferred. It took 47 days for the card to arrive. I rarely use my citi card, so didn't even bother about it.
