@ OperaGhost, not true. I work with 2 other guys who we're sponsored by a brother and a sister, both served 4 years, one in the Air Force, the other in the Marines and have not been active in 5 years and 7 years. Neither retired from the service and both have accounts.

I was lucky to get in when Navy merged with USA FED so, I wasn't in the military when i got in and I just got my son in and he isn't military either so, if a family member got in through the merger that is another way to be sponsored without any military affiliation.
