My experience with Arrival World MC compared to CSP

Postby lexrj » Tue Nov 12, 2013 1:46 am

Been using the card for 2 weeks and its been nothing but great surprises:
-Points post right away, no need to wait for the statement to close and paid. It makes a lot easier to track if your points are posting correctly, unlike Chase.
-Website is clean, simple and fast. Not as great as AMEX which in my opinion it's the best, but it's far better and faster than Chase.
-I had the pleasant surprise of finding out that Barclay has the exact same Faster Rewards Mall as Chase, which is great for racking up some points.
-The only thing CSP is better so far was the looks of the card, which is cool but not important to me.

Overall I'm very happy with my switch, it feels even better knowing that I'm going to get an extra 1% reward on around $600/mo.

Customer service for the CSP has to be better than Barclay's - you call and an American answers the phone, an American who is not reading from a script and has been trained as to which end is up. When I last called Barclay's, I got the script readers in a foreign country who weren't trained as to which end is up, after I got through mail system hell of course.

Just felt it should be mentioned.

I think the Arrival is a better earnings card due to 2x points on everything, but it's not as good for redeeming points. Getting a roundtrip ticket to Brazil, or Europe, for 60,000 United points thru CSP is something the Arrival can never do.

Don't you wish you could transfer your Arrival points to CSP...? ;)

I had the same experience when I called about my old Barclays cards -- the white Apple iTunes one, and the gold Ameriprise Financial world mastercard. Terrible CS reps who had canned answers. Both cards have long since been canceled.

However, with my Arrival card (annual fee version -- will downgrade once my initial year is up next May), it goes straight to - I kid you not - a British lady. Every time!
