Approved for Freedom

Postby tvirk888 » Thu Oct 31, 2013 6:42 pm

Just applied with a CK score of 740 and got approved for $6K! Also applied for the Discover IT card but they wouldn't approve me. :(

So I added 2 more HP's to my history, but by next year my other inquires will go off my record, and I will only have these two. Other card I have is my Wells Fargo card with a $4700 limit and I've had that since 2009.

Should I wait and apply for others?

Congrats on your new Chase card.

I'd suggest calling Discover.

I did, she said I have limited credit history. It's okay. I'm upset that I used a HP on them. My AAOA is 3 years.

I called Discover again, asked them to give me a low limit. Told me that whoever updated my file said I have no income, and if I wanted to submit it again, it would be another HP. Nothing go to apply for a Discover card again.

I would dispute the first hard pull on grounds they declined you on incorrect information by their own admission. Get them to agree to that on the phone then go to each agency independently and file a dispute. Make sure to document who and when you spoke to them.

Ps unless you don't have an income? I am presuming you do. I don't suggest disputing things that are true, but if they got it wrong by all means do what you can to make them fix it.

Yeah they have to make that right. If Chase of all banks gave you 6k right off the bat, there is no reason why Discover couldn't have given you the same for an IT.

I work for my family business, and am a W2 employee. I will look into disputing the HP.
