Freedom Auto CLI

Postby 432521 » Sat Sep 21, 2013 10:07 pm

For the past couple of weeks I have been chatting with chase on twitter asking them about how they decide who gets autos, and I was given a round about answer. Decided to call and ask how they go about taking requests; do they go right to a hard pull or do they do it like Discover and put in a request, but tell you if it is a hard pull and you can stop it. Was told it was a direct hard pull no soft pulls ever if you ask for it yourself. I was like okay never mind thanks. Well I check my account today and see that they have given me a auto of $1,000. My Freedom is still my card with my lowest CL so hopefully I can build it up soon.

I have never gotten an auto cli on my Chase Freedom. Had to ok a hard pull once before to get a $4k CLI, which isn't bad considering my income at the time. But they did upgrade me to Visa Signature with just a simple phone call (I was over $5k visa sig minimum though).

I had never gotten an auto CLI from Chase either so I wanted to see how people got them. I asked them on twitter and was told it was random basically, or essentially they check accounts but they can't tell you which accounts trigger the check. I called and when they said hard pull I said thanks but no thanks hung up and I guess that triggered them looking into my account to give me an auto. I actually did the same thing with WellsFargo and they did the same thing. I also did the same thing with Discover, but nothing ever happened and I finally said what the hell and took the hard pull.

I've never gotten an auto increase on any of my three Chase cards. On the other hand, they've done things for me in a simple phone call that some banks won't do without a hassle if at all (reallocating my credit among cards, product changes, etc). My Freedom is my lowest limit non-store card at only $1500, but I can live with that considering the fantastic rewards program.

Holy crap; I just recently signed on Chase's website and realized I got a CLI of $300! Not much I know, but is the company as a whole doing better or something? I've mentioned this in previous posts, but Chase in particular has been super stingy in giving CLI (ones I've asked for, hard pulls) in my personal experience. Only $500 more every 6 months. Anyone else notice such an increase lately? It had to have happened within the last couple weeks, as my previous statement shows a limit of $2,000, not $2,300. Of course, this is because I only use this Visa as a backup- the main spending goes on the Amex.

On another note, my goal was to call in the end of November (the next 6 month mark for a CLI) and ask for another CLI. Question is- since I already got a recent auto CLI, am I still eligible to call in for a 6-month CLI, albeit a hard-pull? Will it hurt to ask or have them try?

Weirdos. I have a current $8k limit on my Amex Blue Sky, which I also plan to CLI the end of next month.

Never had a auto CLI or any CLI at all, since I have this card, 2010. But chase combined my slate + freedom => freedom with combined credit limit. hmm.. Maybe I need to make a call, ask about CLI and hang up.

I feel like either Chase is crazy or the company is doing well as a whole; as I mentioned, I got a $300 auto CLI, and found out my buddy today got about a ~$3,000 auto CLI- and he maxed out his card earlier this year to purchase a camera.

It is good to hear that others are getting autos as well. I might actually call Chase up tomorrow to see if they will lower my APR.

Called Chase and asked about the auto CLI and requested CLI. A CLI request would be a hard pull, which I denied and ended the phone call saying thank you. Hope this phone call triggers the auto CLI on my account.
