Well.....I did it again.

Postby Kripler68 » Wed Aug 28, 2013 8:14 pm

In June, I opened a CSP for 7000. In July I opened a Sapphire for 8,500 and combined the limits for 15,500.

Now it's August and decided I would try this approach 1 more time.

Today I applied for the Amazon card and was instantly approved for 5500
Called Chase once again and moved the limit and closed the card in a matter of 3 hours after opening. New limit....21,000. ;)

Sounds better than asking for a CLI

Do you close and transfer on the same call? Don't they ask why are you closing a brand new account?

I wish you would've titled this thread, "Oops.....I did it again." Anyway, that's an interesting strategy. I just went for a big CLI on my CSP after 6 months and some fairly heavy spend and got it. So to get to that point did they HP you 3 or 4 times? I got basically to where you are (20K) with two.
Amex Platinum
Amex BCP 21K
Amex SPG 5K
Barclaycard Arrival Plus WEMC 5K
Chase Sapphire Preferred 23.5K
Credit Union 10K
Discover IT 7.75K

@ Lexrj Yes, you can transfer and close on the same call.

@Robrus, They hard pulled me twice and i only had 1 inquiry on my report in June.
The Sapphire and the Amazon will not even report as ever opened on my credit report.

I ran alot through the card in the first 48 days, I charged over 8,000 dolllars on 67 swipes
Vacation helped.

Currently 4 Inquiries on report, 1 from Amex.

Definitely an interesting way to do it.

But, I like my Chase cards too much to go closing them.

Agreed. I am probably going to get a Chase Amazon at some point, so I want to keep good relations with them.

Well through the CSP, you can use points from Ultimate Rewards directly to Amazon, that is why I closed the account.
To each his own,for me,this was the best way to get a high limit very quickly...No regrets

The value to use on Amazon isn't as great, as I recall. I'd prefer to use them for Southwest flights.
