I regret getting my Cash+

Postby TheLethargicAge » Wed Aug 28, 2013 2:01 pm

Other than the 5% cashback on my cell phone bill, I really don't care for this card at all. I just don't like using it. The transactions take forever to post; U.S. Bank's online interface is outdated as hell and doesn't even show pending transactions; it reports to the CRAs on the last business day of the month instead of the statement closing date; fast food and restaurants are considered different categories. Sometimes I want to use it, but then I think "What's the use?".

I guess I'll just sock-drawer it and use it only to pay my cell phone bill (I have a family plan with 4 lines, so I usually get about $14 back every month).

Honestly, if they combined Fast Food and Restaurants into a single category, I'd use it a hell of a lot more.

Why don't you get the Chase Ink Plus? It'll be perfect match with your freedom and will earn more than just cell phone bill.

You turned off Member mode just in time. Any longer and you would have a closed Cash+.

But in all seriousness, I do about the same with it. Im holding out hope that they will tweak the categories someday and make them a little better.

Its still a good card, just depends on what your categories of spending are. I use it for Electronic Stores (Amazon GC from BB as well) and Restaurants and those are the two categories where 40-50% of my spend a month goes towards.
Amex BCE: 3% grocery, 2% gas
Bank of America Better Balance Rewards MC: $25/quarter bonus
Barclaycard Rewards Visa Signature: 2% gas, groceries, utilities
Capital One Quicksilver Visa Signature: 1.5% everything
Chase Freedom Visa Signature: 5% rotating
Citi Forward Visa: 5% restaurants/fastfood, movie theaters, amazon.com
Discover It: 5% rotating
SallieMae MC: 5% Groceries, Gas, Amazon
US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature: 5% electronic stores, restaurants
Sock Drawered: Chase Sapphire, Chase Amazon[/size]
