QS in Visa or MC?

Postby RidgeRacerJM » Tue Aug 27, 2013 3:39 pm

Just curious if Quicksilver could come in either Visa or MC?

In my excitement, i totally forgot what the credit rep said. I just know I got approved in UPGRADING my CAPITAL ONE credit card for the NO ANNUAL fee version.

sorry for the caps, but we all know how rare it is for capital one to ever ever ever upgrade someone. cant believe im one of the lucky few!

almost makes me like capital one now. hahaha

Wow, I'll need to try and do mine, too, although I think I'll hold off until after the one-year mark. :o) Was yours the $39/year Platinum?

All the pics of the Quicksilver I've seen have "Visa Signature" in the bottom corner. I haven't seen any pics of the Quicksilver with the Mastercard logo, although my Platinum is a Mastercard... don't know if yours was as well.

IIRC, the Quicksilver comes as the Quicksilver Signature Visa with no annual fee, or the Quicksilver One Mastercard with the $39 fee. The Visa version is the one for folks with "excellent" credit (Cap 1's terms) and the MC is for folks the "average-good" credit (again Cap 1's terms).

Seems odd to me that the AF version of a card is the one that is considered slightly lower on the totem pole versus the no AF card, but then, it is Cap 1.
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!

Just got my new Quicksilver card in the mail. Interestingly, it is the no AF Quicksilver card, but it is a Mastercard. When I asked the rep she said the QuickSilver One is only available in a MC, but the Quicksilver Card is available in the Visa Sig or MC flavours.
Current Cards:

American Express Platinum

Bank of America Platinum Privileges Visa Signature
