2013 Chrysler Mastercard. Anyone here have it? Thoughts?

Postby scottbaido » Sun Aug 18, 2013 2:18 pm

Recently purchased a brand spanking new Chrysler 300 SRT8. While I was waiting in the lobby for some of the paperwork to be wrapped up I thumbed through a pamphlet on the new Chrysler Mastercard. What are your thoughts on getting this for rewards?

You get 3x points at Chrysler dealers, 2x points on travel, 1x on all others.

The thing I don't know is how much you get when you cash em out. I didn't take a pamphlet home with me and the Chrysler website says little about the credit card other than the basic 411.

lol funny thing was I would love to try that! I tried charging my full down payment on my Chase Mastercard but the Chrysler dealer I was buying from would only allow a max of 5k on plastic.

When you say don't bother can you please explain why you don't like the points.

If the points were worth 1 cent each, it would make the card 3% at Chrysler dealers, 2% on travel, and 1% on everything. There are many cards out there that are better than that. Plus, I highly doubt the redemption rate is 1 cent per point...

No. If you get anything out of this forum, it should be that company/brand-specific cards aren't as good as more general points/cashback cards. Especially a brand like Chrysler. How much do you plan on spending on your Chrysler?

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred
