New Freedom benefits = Amex benefits?

Postby Luxe » Thu Aug 15, 2013 3:11 am

Chase sent out their new benefits (insurance, purchase protection, that sort of thing, not perks) just now. https://www.chasebenefits.com/freedomVP1

The benefits look very similar to Amex's. Nice to see more of these cards match the benefits.

Yea what is this Visa Platinum? Is it a new tier between regular and Signature? Because I do not see concierge service on this card.

Also, who cares about benefits, all cards have roughly the same protections anyway... The real question is, will the card be redesigned?!

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

Visa Platinum has been around for a very long time.

So, looking through the two, price protection, return protection, extended warranty, rental car CDW, roadside assistance and emergency travel services are exactly the same. They start to differ when it comes to travel coverage. The signature offers lost luggage protection and travel accident insurance where the platinum does not. That's it.
