2013 Citi Thank You Preferred Card Credit Score Needed?

Postby ncosky290 » Wed Jul 17, 2013 10:16 pm

Hello, I recently applied and got denied for the CS card as they say that My relationship with chase with my freedom is to new. Citi denied my about 8 months ago for the Thank You Preferred card and am really interested in it. Anyone here have an idea of what credit score criteria and qualifications is needed for it or have gotten it recently.

Thank You,
Nick

Any reason in particular why you want it? It's not a very good card.

It has a pretty okay sign up offer and they give bonus points every year from approval date. I am still a college student until end of august so i thought about the forward. I also want to replace my last capital one card I have and eventually get rid of my walmart discover and most of the store branded cards.

Ya, Just annoyed that chase had that lame excuse since my accounts has been PIF every month since I got it... Really would like the CSP for the travel rewards. May just wait 6 months and try again for it.

Are you sure they still give bonus points every year? They sent a letter to Citi TYP holders starting a change in that program effective immediately for new card members and the end of this month for current members. They're canceling the bonus points and giving 2 points per dollar spent on entertainment and restaurants.

I had the TY Pref. and did a product change to the diamond preferred, but I don't really use it. TY points are not too valuable as of now, unless they revamp their program, I wouldn't recommend TY points. For example, a $10 Starbucks card was 1,500 points...it's not awful, but there are superior reward programs.
