Doubled the credit limit

Postby Kripler68 » Fri Jul 12, 2013 11:51 pm

Well I opened a Chase Sapphire Preferred with an initial credit limit of 7,000 on 6-27-13
Today I applied for a Chase Sapphire with an initial limit of 8,500.

I will pay off the Preferred tomorrow and transfer the limit from the Sapphire onto the Preferred for a total limit of 15,500.

This will be my highest limit so far, so worth the Inquiry.

Nice limit on a good card! I plan on going for a CLI on my CSP next month. I haven't decided on how much to ask for yet, however.

Is it really that simple to get a CLI using that method instead of traditionally asking for a CLI?
$2500 First Hawaiian Bank (6/10)
$4500 CHASE Freedom (2/13)
$3500 Citi Forward (2/13)
$2000 Discover it (2/13)
$9600 AMEX BCE (3/13)
$10000 CHASE Sapphire Preferred (7/13)
$5000 CHASE Ink Plus (8/13)

Yes with Chase it is, from what I've read it's no problem to move credit lines around on your cards with them.

I called them to verify first off if this was possible. CSR told me that if I open a new Sapphire account and have a zero balance on original card, they will transfer new card limit to old one and close new account

Since I just got approved a couple weeks ago, I was immediately approved for a new one.
