From 18K to 20K...not bad

Just out of curiosity, did closing those store cards actually influence their decision to raise your credit limit?

This is weird...4 days ago I applied for sapphire, got the 7-10 message. I called the backdoor # and they approved me for 7,000.
Yesterday they sent me an e-mail stating...the card is on it's way.

I get home today and check the mail and it says, thank you for applying for the Sapphire card, unfortunately we can not approve you at this time.

I call Chase an they confirm I was approved for said limit and in fact the card is on it's way........Strange.

This is why it is so important to call the recon line. Chances are you are good to go, lines probably just got crossed. I imagine if you hadn't called you wouldn't be getting a card...

I suspect you were initially denied but it was reviewed as you called in and approved but the message for the denial had been sent so that's why you got it.

Just basically a slip in the cracks there but I bet that's what happened with that. If they told you that you are approved you'll get it. Don't let a minor glitch get you down, congratulations to you!
