Funny thing is, the people making the comments don't know (and probably don't care) about the criteria for the card, just that it's heavy. It's only people like us who understand that one needs a good credit score, be approved for a minimum $5,000 credit line, etc. It's none of the cashiers business that my card has a $10,500 limit or that my credit score is around 750ish. Granted, I on impulse bought a new car on Thursday after having my other car for only 1 year, so I'm sure the inquiry dinged me a few points.

Granted, the metal feels nice, but the plastic is just so sharp looking. May use that instead. The "wow, this is a thick/heavy card!" comments are kinda getting old.

Curious to know how you went about getting the replacement, plastic CSP card? I sent Chase a secured message asking for a duplicate, plastic replacement card to supplement my current metal card, and they responded that they could not do that, only replace with another metal card. I then called the customer service number on the back (which was answered in one ring, by the way!) and was told the same thing, that a plastic Sapphire Preferred card was not available.

Can you give us some insight on how to do this?
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!

All I did was call cust serv and ask for a plastic version of the card. The nice lady said, "Sure! No problem!" and had it within a week.
