Can I transfer Citi ThankYou points?

Postby pewpew » Sun May 26, 2013 7:03 pm

Can the points be transferred to frequent flyer programs or frequent guest programs? If yes, at what ratio? And is it a Visa or MC? Citi's website is not clear about either of these things.

Thanks

They do have travel reward redemptions, but its not a direct point to point transfer. Still, thank you points can be worth $0.01 each if you redeem them right (for payments made out to your bank or loan acct). This makes the 5x points categories unlimited 5% back on cards with the thank you rewards.
Sole Ownership Cards:
1st Financial Bank Platinum Student Visa, $500 CL, Open Since 3/2012
Citi Forward Student Visa, $6k CL, Open Since 10/2012
Costco TrueEarnings Amex, $6k CL, Backdates to 1/2012
SallieMae Rewards Barclay Mastercard, $2.5k CL, Open Since 4/2013
Jointly Owned Cards (co-owner with mom, not AU, used and paid only by me):
Chase Amazon Rewards Visa Signature, $2k CL, Open Since 8/2012
US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature, $13.5k CL, Open Since 10/2012
Authorized User (Parents Pay/Use)
Costco TrueEarnings Amex $29.4k CL, AU since 11/2012

transferring points to United can easily make each point worth 2 to 4 cents a piece. depending on where you are going and which class you choose. and most cards have ways to earn bonus points. Chase has the UR mall.

Or it's a MC! The 5x version link that was shut down was for a MC.

Transfer only to Hilton at present.

But with 1.33 cents per point, and flight points, and 5x on Preferred/Forward, it is pretty good. Except Citi is now shutting down users....
