What is the card to have nowadays?

Postby revvystroke » Wed May 22, 2013 7:33 pm

Like the title...what is THE card to have/use, that normal people can get? Not a millionaire, though I wouldn't mind if I were.

My current cards are;
2 boa cards, $5k & $12k
1 Chase SP $12k
1 Discover $3.5k

What is the best rewards card out there now? I pay in full each month and normally spend 7-8k per month plus whatever businesses expenses I put on that I get reimbursed for.

with that kind of spending i would go for a Chase Ink Bold. it is a charge card Chase will most likely give you the World Elite MasterCard version of it (nice perks). if you are using it for business expenses it will pick up points very fast.

if you are a frequent traveler (3+ times a year) than the AmEx platinum charge card will be most beneficial to you.

you can't go wrong with either card. i personally like the Chase cards better because they pick up points faster thanks to the UR bonus point mall and transfer points at a 1:1 ratio with my favorite airline (united).
Junk I use:
AmEx Platinum for Mercedes Benz from, 75k spending ability
AmEx Everyday 8.99% + Prime, 44k CL
Chase Ink Bold, 35k
Chase Freedom (Converted from WaMu VISA) from '07, 5.99% + Prime, 30k CL

Junk I don't use
BoA Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards (converted from World Points MC) from '07, 7.9% Fixed APR, 30k CL
Discover IT (Converted from Discover More) from '08, 5.74% + Prime, 20k CL
AmEx Clear from '07, 4.99% + Prime, 10k CL
All 3 credit scores are over 800.
