Got to hand it to Chase!

Postby Freedomtodiscover » Tue May 21, 2013 1:06 am

A while back I posted about getting declined to upgrade my Freedom to Visa Sig. Well about a week or two ago I called to put the request in and the rep said no problem someone will touch base with you in a few days. Well a week passed and I thought they all but forgot about me and then my phone rings. A friendly rep just called to go over the perks of the Sig card with me informing me I've been approved and will have my new card in 7-10 days no credit pull.

If somebody has an existing Freedom account with 5k+ credit limit why isn't it automatically a sig?

Of course, those of us that carry the Mastercard version...well, it's just a World Mastercard and not the World Elite or something.

Not that I'm complaining. :)

Congrats on the conversion. My Freedom is a MC with a 7.5k limit and tried to pc to WMC two times. Chase has been good to me, but they haven't been too helpful with this. The answer is always NO

Chase Sapphire Visa Signature- 5k (09/12)

you have to use it a lot to become eligible for the upgrade. my freedom is over the 5k requirement but it is a regular mastercard. and i actually prefer that. i use it to pay at my favorite restaurants and i don't want to punish all their hard work with higher interchange fees
Junk I use:
AmEx Platinum for Mercedes Benz from, 75k spending ability
AmEx Everyday 8.99% + Prime, 44k CL
Chase Ink Bold, 35k
Chase Freedom (Converted from WaMu VISA) from '07, 5.99% + Prime, 30k CL

Junk I don't use
BoA Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards (converted from World Points MC) from '07, 7.9% Fixed APR, 30k CL
Discover IT (Converted from Discover More) from '08, 5.74% + Prime, 20k CL
AmEx Clear from '07, 4.99% + Prime, 10k CL
All 3 credit scores are over 800.

Its my first Visa Signature so It was pretty exciting. Chase usually likes to pretend the card dosen't exist but when I got a U.S based rep they were very helpful in aiding the upgrade.
