On the contrary, I think it proves you're brighter than most, since you both recognize the game, but choose honest work ethic over schmooze. The workforce needs more morally-grounded people like you.

They key is to work both sides. I believe as stated earlier... one needs to have substance beyond just the gab.

I see others kissing tail and playing politics, which is the only way to get ahead, I know that, it has nothing and I mean nothing to do with your work, it's how you play the game. But you know, I choose to do my job instead of play the game. Thus I will never get ahead. My aspiration is simply to keep what's left of my sanity and not have to be the Walmart greeter or ask people if they want fries with that.

So you guys are exactly right. It took me a LONG time to figure out the quality of your work has nothing to do with success when you work for other people - it's how you play the game. I was dumb enough to think work had something to do with it. Now that I know better, I still focus on the work, which proves I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree.

In my experience the ones who are able to do their job well and schmooze are the most successful. If you are already doing your job well all you have to do is incorporate the schmoozing. It’s not as hard as you think but does take time for those it doesn’t come natural to…

Depends on the people you work for. The quality of my work certainly matters.

I app'd last night and was instantly approved for 5K limit. That seems to be the going credit limit for those who apply. Can't wait to actually get the card in my hands.

Call them up and ask them to expedite it. You'll have it in your hands sooner that way. Make sure you spend 3k in the first three months for the bonus!

+1 to both points. They'll actually probably expedite it automatically since you (Marcov719) have an existing relationship with them through the Freedom. That's what they did for me anyway -- my CSP and Amazon cards arrived together about 2 days after approval.
