Citi diamond Pre mail offer

Postby m20e3087 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 10:19 am

My wife keep receiving mail offer for Citi diamond Pre. She is a full time student with no income. What you people think, go for it or trash it? She got only one credit card which is BankAmeri cash card since 2007, and she is a AU on PRG since 2010.

It's a good card for the 0% offer. They recently changed my Platinum select to it. Why not try?

I got this card and I'm only using it for balance transfers due to the 0% offer. No rewards program though, so it's of limited use to me otherwise. Doesn't hurt to have some more credit though, I think.
Scores on the mend...
FICO: 654 (7/2017, AMEX), Vantage: 663 (CK)
Cards I Use Amex Premier Rewards Gold, Discover IT, Capital One QuickSilver MC, Amex Gold Delta (for the free bag)
Sock Drawer Chase Amazon, AE Visa, CareCredit, several store cards for util padding
Next Card Amex Everyday

Yeah, since they're offering, why not pick up some extra credit (without the intention of using it, of course), start building more age with accounts and, obviously, initiating a relationship with one of the world's biggest banks?
AMEX: PRG Gold, Business Simply Cash, Business Costco, BCE.
Chase: United MileagePlus Club, Sapphire Preferred, Amazon Rewards
Barclaycard Arrival World Mastercard
HSBC Cash or Fly World Mastercard
USAA World Mastercard, USAA Platinum Mastercard
Wells Fargo Business Platinum
USC Credit Union Mastercard

that card is only useful if you need to transfer balances or if you go to concerts often. Citi Bank participates in a lot of concert ticket pre sales and can get you tickets sometimes before they go on sale to the general public.

aside from that, it is useless. for new applicants, the interest on it for purchases becomes insanely high after the intro period runs out. usually to the tune of 20% for people with little or no income. i would trash it.

Note: I actually do have a Citi Diamond Preferred World Master Card, but I only use it for ticket pre sales. nothing else.
Junk I use:
AmEx Platinum for Mercedes Benz from, 75k spending ability
AmEx Everyday 8.99% + Prime, 44k CL
Chase Ink Bold, 35k
Chase Freedom (Converted from WaMu VISA) from '07, 5.99% + Prime, 30k CL

Junk I don't use
BoA Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards (converted from World Points MC) from '07, 7.9% Fixed APR, 30k CL
Discover IT (Converted from Discover More) from '08, 5.74% + Prime, 20k CL
AmEx Clear from '07, 4.99% + Prime, 10k CL
All 3 credit scores are over 800.
