How to get sold out concert tickets from card concierge?

Postby R.Reborn » Sun Apr 21, 2013 9:40 pm

Hi - Anyone with a Sapphire Preferred card used their concierge service to locate tickets to sold out events?

I'm looking to purchase tickets to a sold out concert in Europe but I'm a bit on the fence about purchasing from random people on Craigslist/Ebay at ridiculous scalping prices. I was wondering if the CSP Concierge would be able to help locate or maybe even insure me when purchasing with the card? (there are a lot of fake tickets going around and don't want to get robbed for $500).

Thanks!

I haven't for that particular reason but every time I have called them, they have been nothing short of excellent. For a sold out show I'd doubt it, but I can't say for sure. They'd be successful at something more like getting pre-sale/great seats to a concert.
Amex Platinum
Amex BCP 21K
Amex SPG 5K
Barclaycard Arrival Plus WEMC 5K
Chase Sapphire Preferred 23.5K
Credit Union 10K
Discover IT 7.75K

Popular concert tours usually have deals with specific credit card networks for special batches of tickets for their high value customers, even if the general tickets are already gone. The trick is having the right card for the right show plus having access to a concierge service. For example, I've used Amex Platinum concierge to get concert tickets. The problem is that if the show doesn't have a deal with Amex, then the concierge service can only try to get on Ticketmaster's website and buy the best tickets so you won't have to (useful since my time is valuable).

If they do have a deal with the show, then you get a lot more flexibility, assuming that batch of tickets isn't already spoken for. Often these tickets are available before the general admission ones go on sale, so if you know that an act is coming to your town that you like, call the concierge service of your card in advance and find out if they have a special deal.

if you really like live music shows, this is one of those few times where it really pays to have a card with concierge services for each of the big networks (Amex, Visa, Mastercard).
Cards:
American Express Platinum (NPSL)
Penfed Platinum Reward Visa ($28K)
Chase Freedom Visa ($25K)
Fidelity American Express ($20K)
American Express Blue Cash Preferred ($20K)
Bank of America Cash Rewards MasterCard ($20K)
Citi Thank You Preferred Visa ($9.5K)
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($7.5K)
US Bank Cash + Visa Signature ($7K)
Discover IT ($4K)

This

Citi Bank is famous for having these annoying deals where only they get to sell tickets 2 days before anyone else. yes, sometimes even before AmEx. that is the only reason why i haven't closed my Citi Diamond Preferred card. i had to go through them twice in the last year and a half because of this, once for Tiesto and then for Swedish House Mafia. a few years back they did it for a KISS concert in NYC too. if not for the ticket presales, the citi diamond card would be completely worthless.

back to OP's question, if the tickets are sold out, then they are sold out. sorry.
