Threaten to close your card account, Citi kisses butt!

Postby swipe_masta » Fri Apr 05, 2013 3:11 pm

I had no intentions to bluff when I called to close my card (which I had for less than a month and it was the wrong card to begin with). I called the number on the back of my card and the cs agent transferred me to an acct specialist. The acct specialist was super nice and cheery and she pushed a lot of promos at me to keep the card like 10,000 ty points if I spent $3,000 in 6 months, 5x ty points on all my everyday purchases for 3 months, and even going further to extend my 0% APR promo for another year!

So if you ever feel like Citi is gypping you out of benefits, you know what to do!
