Recommend me a World Mastercard

Postby TheLethargicAge » Mon Mar 18, 2013 3:17 pm

Preferably, but not necessarily, a cash back card.

The Sallie Mae World MC looks interesting, although Barclaycard's customer service seems a little suspect (from what I've heard).

What do you guys suggest?
Blue Cash Preferred ($24K), Costco TrueEarnings ($8K), Better Balance Rewards ($6K), CashForward ($15K), Sallie Mae Rewards ($10K), Quicksilver ($17K), AARP Rewards ($15K), Freedom ($15K), Double Cash ($16.5K), It ($28.5K), Fidelity Investment Rewards ($18K), Cash+ ($11K)

I know Chase Freedom is available as a Mastercard (if you access the application through Mastercard's website) and they should give you a World version with a high enough credit line (I'm assuming $5,000 minimum)

admin note: here is the app for the MasterCard version:
[chase freedom mastercard][/chase freedom mastercard]
Discover IT: $2,500 CL
BankAmericard Better Balance Rewards Platinum Plus Visa: $2,000 CL

758 FICO Score from TransUnion at no charge thanks to Discover!

I know some people don't like the Thank You points reward system, but that aside, it comes with some nice perks for no annual fee. I have the Thank You Preferred MasterCard version, and have no complaints. And, it has the EMV :)
Wallet: Amex BCE & Chase Freedom. (Credit Card dieting since 2014)

You have two World MCs as aspirational cards in your signature. Why not go for those?

Hehe, I know, but to be honest I'm looking for a card that can serve as a catch-all card for purchases that don't fit into any particular category. The Freedom MC seems like a good choice, although the Capital One Cash Rewards (for average credit) is very appealing as well, as it has no FTF and could be a good backup for the CSP if traveling abroad.

I've realized the CSP Visa Signature offers superior benefits over the World MC so I'd rather get the VS version.
