My MRPS card comes up for renewal next month. I am shifting all my travel related charges to CSP so I was seriously considering canceling it or dropping it to the non-premier version to save a little on the AF. I just visited the Chase website to see how much the AFs are and it's now $85 for the Premier and $45 for the standard--both are Signature. My AF is apparently grandfathered at $65...

Some of the factors:
-Rewards Gold through 2014
-Nice properties where I live in Hawaii but not where I tavel to most
-I have to fly in order to reach a Cat 1-4 hotel
-Trying to reduce the number of cards I have with an AF

I think I may drop the card all together and just enjoy the Gold status whenever I can.

Feedback?

I agree, it should be the same history on your credit report. When Chase PC'ed my Slate to a Freedom it stayed as the same account on my credit history. Actually when I called Citi to change my Dividend from a Visa to a MasterCard, they changed my account number and it still reports as the same account. So you should be good!

I have done the same thing Hematino, switching from one processor to another on same account, the reporting remained the same from the credit bureaus.

I have had this card for a few weeks now, started out at $8500 limit but am looking to increase that when I can. I have never dealt with Chase so not really sure what to expect. I thought I saw somewhere on these forums that limit increases with Chase are always hard pulls on your report? Is that true? Also when can I request the increase?

When I requested a CLI with my CSP, it resulted in a hard pull.

I waited a year before making the request, although with moderate spend and good payments, I'm sure they'll consider a CLI after a few months. 6 months is always the typical safe bet, though.

Good to know. I'm currently at $8500, any idea on how much I should ask? How generous they really are, I have an AMEX with $22000 and NPSL, I'd like a Visa with a relatively high limit also.

UR points transfer to MR 1:1 if that is what you are asking.

Good to know, but I was wondering if the Marriott Premier uses UR points or "Marriott points" and are "Marriott points" equal to UR points?
