Capital One Back Door #?

Postby swipe_masta » Thu Feb 28, 2013 10:45 pm

I tried googling it and searched all the forums here and on ficofourms, but the back door numbers listed are dated and are either disconnected or is the same as the number on the back of my card. I really want to increase my limit cause im traveling abroad soon and when I tried the automated (option #4) it said declined and sent a letter. The letter said that they are reviewing their credit limit increase policy and could not give me an increase at this time. They pulled Equifax (my score: 775)

I think this is bs. they had no reason to decline my request. I have no blemishes on my credit history at all. the limit i have now is acceptable but i would appreciate an increase...

So does anybody have the number? also, what do i say? i've never called a back door number so i have no idea as to what to do/ask.

Thanks.

I found a number here http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=452925

With a 775 score you don't need to deal with Crapital One.

Well when I first got my venture it was 5000 but 6 months in they bumped me to 7500...
I really like my venture card. It's my everyday card. Their rewards options are very nice and the fee is significantly less than others that might have similar rewards structures like CSP. A nice even number like 10000 even be ok with me. I was really hoping for 15000 but to be denied completely, it kinda sucks. I have both the fee and non-fee cards that were both auto bumped. Ya Think that might be the reason? I'm looking into the CSP and Freedom, but would really like some help on the topic at hand...

This isn't true.

When I was rebuilding my credit I obtained the Cap 1 Platinum Card. I received 2 automatic increases to bring the total CL to $1,750.00, but did not receive an increase in over 15 months when I just contacted them via e-mail.

I outlined how responsibly I had handled their card, and that it was now way out of line with my other cards (CSP $22,500.00, BOA $5,000, AMEX Platinum) and that I wanted a CLI. Within 2 days I received a phone call, and after answering a couple of questions, and a "soft pull", I was contacted 2 days later and told my CL was increased to $7,500.00 and the annual fee was being waived.

Just email the CEO and see what happens!
My Wallet:

AMEX Platinum - NPSL (obtained in 2012; Backdated to 1989)
AMEX Gold Business - NPSL (obtained 2006; Backdated to 1989)
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $30,000.00 (Obtained 2012)
Discover - $3,900.00 (Obtained 1994)
Bank of America - $5,000.00 (Obtained 2011)
Capital One - $7,500.00 (Obtained 2011)

If you don't mind me asking, How in the world did you get you credit limit on your CSP to 22.5K after only having it about a year? Or did they give you that as your initial limit?

AmEx Platinum (6/12)
Barclays Apple (6/12)
AMEX Gold Delta (5/13)

When it comes to credit limits, Capital One is pretty much the worst. My Capital One Platinum card is one of my oldest cards and is still languishing with a 1k limit whereas I have several other cards with a 20k+ limit. Whichever Cap One card you have, there are better options available to you from better banks especially with your credit score. If they're not willing to work with you, then they don't deserve your business, that simple.
