Decision pending for Chase credit card application?

Postby Indy_Guy » Thu Feb 28, 2013 11:33 am

I applied for a CSP online and did not get instant approval. How long does it typically take to found out if you have been approved thru the mail? Can you call Chase customer service to check on your application?

I was waiting for my approval, said I would receive my decision in the mail in about 10 days. I got a call from Chase 3 days after I applied and they just asked a few security questions verifying my identity. They then approved me and I received my card 7 days later!

I wouldn't call recon unless they deny you in the letter or over the phone. There is an automated Application status line: 800-436-7927, however every time I called in those 3 days it said "Your application is still in pending, this is the most updated information we have" or something along those lines.

It's best to wait.

Disagree.

Like many others, I called immediately and was approved, Suggest you do the same.

I didn't get a instant. Called recon and they said declined at first but later during the call they changed their minds to approved. Doesn't hurt to call. 99% of people on here would say to call recon and just see what they say.

I went ahead and called the reconsideration line and good thing I did as after speaking with them I got my application approved. If I hadn't called I got the felling my application would have been denied. Thanks for the info as I had never even heard of a reconsideration line before.

While a few get approved with that status, with Chase 90% of the time that means denied. CSP is tough to get anyway. I would call now, unless you just want to wait weeks for a letter in the mail likely saying why you were declined. My experience is Chase is good to recon with, as good as any lender out there, probably Barclays is the only easier one.

I suggest you call.

Thanks for the advice on calling reconsideration.

I called last night and got my application approved. I got the feeling that if I had not called my application would of been denied otherwise. The person I talked to was a pleasure to do deal with ( I had forgotten what it was like to talk to a USA call center lol) Thanks again for the GREAT advice I had never even heard of the reconsideration line.

Congratulations that's a great card to have! Enjoy it!

And yeah it's great to call someone in the US who has a clue and can help you, isn't it?

I just did the same thing: I applied, got a pending result, waited 24 hours and called the reconsideration line and within five minutes was approved.

I was even able to have them redirect shipment of the card as I am deployed right now. Chase CS is off to a great start!

Thanks for the advice!
