Some time ago I upgraded my Diamond Preferred MC to EMV-enhanced card. When I check the "Benefits and Services" tab on my account and then check "Order Replacement Card", there's already a notation that the card will be sent with the EMV chip, so presumably, once ordered, there's no going back. Not that anyone would really want to!
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!
EQ = 846 EX=828 TU = 836 as of 02/2016

me too, but mine is the dividend platinum i believe..its dividend something.

i have had it forever and when my wallet got stolen last year they sent one overnight--but it didn't have any chip.

reading this thread I decided to try and order one online; they didn't give me an option to select with world chip but indicated i will get it with it automatically?

i hope so, but since it has 3% FT fee I would still try to use my discover more.

Often they put priority on replacements of stolen cards they don't have time to encode the chip. Even the emergency replacement cards Amex mail you here in the UK are just swipe and sign (They send you another one with chip a few days later).
Amex UK Platinum Charge Card
Amex Blue Cash USA
Amex US Gold Corporate Card
World MasterCard Capital One UK (Free abroad + Cashback + Free Cash Withdrawals with no interest)

Just called Citi on my HIlton Visa (No AF). They said coming soon. No date given. They said they are starting with the highest tier cards and working down. Hope that helps with some info.
