I too emailed Chase via secured messaging regarding the absysmal APR (14.9%) on my no-rewards Slate card. I pointed out that since the card has no rewards, that the APR should be lower (not that I pay interest, I was just bored). They offered to upgrade the card to a Freedom even though I already have a Freedom. I didn't bite at the time. I wonder if a Slate can be product changed to a Sapphire?

Not too many cards interest me from Chase right now due to no bonuses. I may product change the card into a Freedom Mastercard due to having a Visa.
Living in the US, both are accepted pretty much everywhere......but having two Freedom cards would mean having two cards for bonuses per quarter?
CC Deville wrote:Yeah, after I posted that I went looking in the Web and found that they will allow a PC from Slate to Sapphire. I may do that when Chase finally gets around to adding an EMV chip to Sapphire. Slate is completely worthless otherwise. Yeah, if you have two Freedoms both are eligible for the extra 5 percent catagories (when you sign up each quarter they even ask if you need to sign up another Freedom). I don't really see any need to have two Freedoms...My Slate is a MasterCard and it is going to be 12 this year. My Freedom just turned 2 and is a Visa Signature. So I should probably just PC my Slate to Freedom and close the Visa as I have way too many cards.
I noticed you have quite a few Chase cards. Were they all Chase or were some of them WaMu cards before?

Come June 2013, I'll be converting mine into a different product. The balance transfer promotion is the only reason to have this card.
