Hard to say...they might skip you since the system will show that you received a CLI within the first year (regardless of the fact that you requested it as opposed to an auto CLI). Or, they will automatically review you for an auto CLI. I have not heard of anybody getting the auto CLI after having requested one on their own....but then again, it really has not come up on any of the forums that I frequent.

I will reiterate though that after that 1st year..not a chance.

So stoked guys!!!!! Today in the mail I received my Freedom card... The first thing I went to look for was tje CL.. If you remeber I was initially given a CL of $3500, then called immediately for a CLI. The CSR put in the request and said it was pending and that I would hear by mail what my CL would be.

Today I opened my welcom package, and my CL was increased from $3500 to $5k!!!!!

Is anyone familiar with how Chase Freedom is with BK applicants?

Over the past week, I've been approved for Discover it ($2500) and Citi Forward ($4000).

I'd like to get Chase Freedom and convert my two non-rewards Cap One cards to Cap One Venture or Journey, then call it a day for CC apps.

Discover it 2500
Citi Forward 5400
Chase Freedom 1000
AMEX Blue Cash Everyday 5500
Citi Dividend 5600
Cap One Visa Platinum 750 (CLOSED)

Got denied for Chase Freedom. The paperwork only lists my BK (2005) from TransUnion, which doesn't give me much to rebutt.

Last week, I spoke to a recon rep. She said I needed to reestablish my credit in other ways, such as personal loans and car loans. I see both as pointless, if they aren't necessary. I've had4 cards since my BK. One was closed to inactivity (Orchard Bank). On the other 3, I've paid over $50,000+ in charges on time and paid in full.

I'm not exactly sure how to tackle the recon.

I called the Chase recon line today () a week after being declined.

Long story short: My denial was reversed. I'm approved for $1K!

The Chase denial letter only listed my BK, so I explained why I originally filed for BK (upside down on a car loan for a lemon vehicle).

My FICO shot up from 725 to 745 since the denial. I'm sure that helped, along with the fact my BK is old (8 years) and getting closer to falling off my credit report.

I'm stoked -- especially as I'm about to open a bank account with Chase ($200 back).

I want one or two more cards.

I'm leaning toward US Bank Cash +. I already bank with them and they said applying in-branch vs online reaps bigger rewards. I'd also like a travel card, like Cap One's Journey.

I'd like to combine my Cap One cards to a higher credit line Cap One Venture/Journey, but that could affect the age of my credit history (those are two of my three oldest cards).

I also bank with BoA and they're pushing their credit cards of late.

Any tips?

I thought the only way to apply was in-branch.
