NFL Extra Points Credit Card

Postby CSMB » Sun Jan 27, 2013 8:03 pm

Anyone have experience with the nfl extra points credit card? Good or bad?

I live in New Orleans and I was handed a flier at the Super Bowl nfl shop for the card. 40000 bonus points for 2500 spend in first 3 months. Equals 400 bucks in rewards. It's a Barclays MasterCard.

Never heard of it until today so I'm wondering if any has it or has heard things about it.

I got it solely for the rewards and have never used it since. Tried to get Barclays to product change it to another one of their cards and they cannot.

Just keep in mind you have to use points to cover a purchase thats $25 or more. So if you buy stuff less than $25, you cannot redeem those rewards points. You'll need to do some creative math to maximize the rewards redemption assuming you stop using the card after $2500.

The sign up bonus is pretty awesome but the 1% rewards on everything and "2 points for every $1 spent at, team pro-shops, and in-stadium" isn't worth it.
Amex BCE: 3% grocery, 2% gas
Bank of America Better Balance Rewards MC: $25/quarter bonus
Barclaycard Rewards Visa Signature: 2% gas, groceries, utilities
Capital One Quicksilver Visa Signature: 1.5% everything
Chase Freedom Visa Signature: 5% rotating
Citi Forward Visa: 5% restaurants/fastfood, movie theaters,
Discover It: 5% rotating
SallieMae MC: 5% Groceries, Gas, Amazon
US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature: 5% electronic stores, restaurants
Sock Drawered: Chase Sapphire, Chase Amazon[/size]

I have one, used it only for the 20,000 points after first purchase over $200 or more.

Probably will only use it sparingly to keep it active.
