Barclaycard

Postby MemberSince99 » Tue Jan 01, 2013 8:07 pm

I just read on the FICO board a poster there tried logging in to his Barclaycard's account and got a message it was closed.

So I immediately logged in to mine. They haven't gotten to me....yet.

Seriously has anyone else had them do AA on you for new accounts or things like that? On FICO I read plenty of messages about that, not much here though.

And most of the replies on that thread say it's a rare occurrence.

I have two accounts with them, have had lots of credit activity in 2012, and everything has been cool.

It's not THAT rare I've read numerous other accounts on there of this. If you do a search you'll find a lot more than that example.

So is it the rule, nope I'm sure not, but they seem to do plenty of it. Just something for people to be aware of. If you're marginal and want to stay in their good graces avoid app'ing for anything else in the first 6 months after you get their card.

I wouldn't want them to close my account but frankly it's a 2k limit so it's not like I'd be utterly heartbroken. Guess we'll see.

By the way, he said he had asked for a CLI, I guess that could be considered "poking the bear" so to speak if you are on thin ice with them anyway.

But I've always been of the mindset to not do anything halfway. Be bold and go for the gusto. Walk into the cop shop and waltz right up to the desk sergeant and ask where they keep the guns and the drugs! Why lead a boring life?
