Just wanted to update: Called the status line, was told that "it did go through and you will be receiving a letter within 30 days". Obviously that's a decline, unless I'm totally missing something. Wouldn't outright tell me, but the only times I've ever heard this before it meant thumbs down. So, might still want a travel card at some point but I guess it's not a big deal.

Hummm how are they on recons? I hadn't thought of that. Is it worth bothering with? I have no experience with these guys so I don't know if that's a complete waste of effort like Citi, or if there's a real chance?

I'm not sure how BofA is with recons.

Yours is probably due to the recent inquiries. On one hand you could always give a recon a shot since you already took the hit with the inquiry and on the other, with as many new accounts as you have opened recently, I don't know that they will budge. I assume you also frequent the FICO forum, but here are a list of BofA #'s you could try:

BofA: 866-421-8153 (Credit analyst - existing cardholders)

BofA: 888-503-6090

BofA: 877-721-9405 (App Status - Choose Option 3)

BofA: 800-732-9194

BofA: 800-718-6072 (Credit analyst - for existing cardholders only).

BofA: 800-881-4730 (Loan Dept.?).
.
BofA/FIA: 888-831-4181

If you're declined it may be a credit line issue. You can move some of your FIA Amex credit line to the BofA card.

Thanks guys for the replies.

I'll see what they say. I would like the card as I could use it for travel but if I don't get it, it's honestly not the end of the world. I'll let you know what they ultimately say and if I go for a recon on it. I don't know it's a decline, I have read of some people getting approved with that message, but if I were a gambling sort my money would say it's more likely a decline than approval.

As promised reporting back on the results. I checked CK (Credit Karma) this morning and it reported a new account. I figured it was Target so I looked and it said BK OF AMER. You might be thinking maybe that's FIA, but that already reported as FIA CSNA. Interestingly it reports the limit as "N/A". Not sure why?
