Switching from Authorized User to Primary Account Holder

Postby lbjandai » Sun Aug 12, 2012 12:18 pm

My mother has had a BP Chase card since 2009, and I (her son) have been an authorized user on it since 2009. Therefore, just as an authorized user, I wasn't getting any credit built from that.

Now, I'd like to, but my question is: If they let my mom come off as a user, and just have me on the account, will any of the credit that has been built over the last three years transfer to me? I would think not, but I thought there might be some transfer over...

Because if it doesn't at all, I don't see much reason to get this same card again. I could get a slightly better rewards card instead.
