I got the Freedom, went to the local branch and opened a Chase Checking (Free $125 after first direct deposit since it's a brand new branch that opened 2 days after I got my card - Free money FTW). I asked the banker about it, and he said they are automatic. The second that account opened, I would get the extra benefits. I don't know if it's true or not, but I'll find out.

Active Cards:
Chase Freedom 10+10 Visa Signature ($9k Limit - 8/2012)

You can call in to have them linked instantly. If you don't call it will take about 2 to 3 statements before 10 + 0.1% pts bonus kicks in.

Chase Freedom-hands down! You can't beat 5% for everyday purchases. I got my Chase Freedom card when I applied for a Chase checking account. While the Chase guy was setting up my account he looked at his screen and said "Hey, you qualify for a Chase Freedom card." I never asked him for a credit card. But since he offered, I took it. The Chase Freedom card is the best rewards card in my wallet. Go for it, Dylan. Chase Freedom all the way!
