Do note, though, that you can request a MasterCard when you call to activate; just make sure they send you the Preferred version, as they accidentally sent me the standard plastic version the first time.

I've seen the "trifecta" mentioned multiple times, and I get that it's the Freedom, Sapphire Preferred, and Chase Checking, but beyond that, what is it? What benefits do you get?

Also, is the CSP a World ELITE MasterCard, or just a World MasterCard? (I know it's Visa Signature if you choose that option)

Active Cards:
Chase Freedom 10+10 Visa Signature ($9k Limit - 8/2012)
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($10k Limit - 2/2013)
Chase Ink Plus ($7k Limit - 2/2013)
Discover IT ($9.5k Limit - 10/2012)
AMEX Zync (No Pre-set Limit - 1/2010)
AMEX Blue Cash Everyday ($20k Limit - 1/2013 - Backdate to 1/2010)

chase freedom + chase checking gets you 10 points per transaction and another 10% cash back on non 5% rotating category purchases.

Chase Sapphire allows you to get double points on restaurants and travel (i.e. plane tickets hotels) and another point for travel if booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards booking tool.

and all points you earn from your freedom and sapphire can be combined

CSP is a World ELITE Mastercard, this is currently the one that i have
Wells Fargo Student Credit Card Visa - $1300 (February 2011)
American Express Zync Charge Card (February 2012)
Chase Freedom Visa- $2000 5% rotating (April 2012)
Citi Forward Visa- $3000 - 5x at restaurants, amazon.com (April 2012)
Chase Sapphire Preferred Mastercard World Elite - $5000 (July 2012)

Credit cards left to attain
-Amex BCE/BCP

I ask because on the MC website I don't see it under Elite, just regular.

How is the Trifecta overall? Is it considered an excellent setup? Also, is the Freedom a SIGNATURE or just a regular Visa?

hmm im not sure, i applied for mine directly from there website and it came in with the Silver Mastercard logo which is only for Elite World while the world is still in normal color.

Im not sure about the setup, but i heard if you use your chase freedom for small purchases for like gum and such, its a good way to rack up points as well. i dont have the trifecta though, still have a wells fargo account, just too lazy to close and move to chase haha

Freedom CAN be a signature. CSP has a required CL of $5000 along with the CS but the Freedom i've seen people with $500-$5000 CL. once you reach the $5000 CL though you can request for a Visa Signature/World Elite which is what im planning on doing with mine

If the trifecta is really good, I might apply for Freedom as a Signature, CSP as a World Elite, and have the Chase Checking. I currently use PNC bank though, and I love them. I'm reluctant to switch.

You don't have to leave PNC. You can get a free Chase checking account (with some restrictions) to pull off the trifecta without using it as your main account.

so just transfer in $1500 from your main branch and leave it alone to gather interest via annual interest and the increase of reward points. Alternatively you could just plan on spending more than $500 a month on the card and have the direct deposit set up from your other bank just before the bill on your card is due. Thats what I'm planing on doing, once i find a branch within 30 miles of my location.

For some reason MA is completely void of any chase banking institutions besides JP Morgan (which doesnt exactly count in this case), anybody know why that is?
